Support the adoption and long-term use of Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDIs) in member countries by promoting open-source technology as a key tool to implement IGIF "Strategic Pathway 7: Technology and Infrastructure". The goal is to ensure interoperability, efficiency, sustainability, and fair access to geospatial informatio

Secondary Objetives

  • Promote the use of open-source software as the main technology base for national and regional SDIs​

  • Develop clear technical and practical guidelines to build SDIs with open-source tools​

  • Encourage training and capacity building, working together with DWG-2 Capacity Building ​

  • Collect and share success stories of SDI projects using open-source software​

  • Create simple metrics and evaluation tools to measure technology maturity and how well SDIs follow IGIF principles.
